Bakkavor has announced a sales rise for 2018 in a pre-close trading statement.
The fresh prepared specialist reported that like-for-like revenue rose by 3.2 per cent in the 52 weeks to 29 December 2018, compared to the equivalent period the year before, adding that good progress had been made across the group.
In the UK, revenues went up 1.8 per cent on a like-for-like basis despite weak consumer confidence, it added. The international business saw good volume growth, which led to a 16 per cent like-for-like sales increase.
'In the current economic climate, the board considers this to be a robust performance and confirms that expectations for the full year are unchanged,' the company said.
Bakkavor will report its preliminary results on 28 February.
