Newspaper reports suggest that Sainsbury's is ready to create 3,000 jobs as it looks to improve its in-store offer.

An influx of new staff will be used to keep shelves better stocked and give shoppers a better service, said articles in both the Sunday Telegraph and the Observer.

However, both papers also reiterated Sainsbury's alleged intention to cut hundreds of management jobs.

The chain's chief Justin King was obliged to issue its third profit warning of the year last week, but is due to unveil plans to revive the ailing giant today at the same time as releasing its second quarter and half-year results[Tuesday].

He is expected to warn that any turnaround could take three years and that Sainsbury's will have to write off millions of pounds of investments.
