The supermarket's herb of the month aims to encourage customers to try and use herbs in a variety of dishes. Sainsbury's herb buyer Tristan Kitchener believes mint is synonymous with summer. He says: "Apple mint is an exciting new herb for summer. It is a versatile herb, ideal for fresh desserts such as fruit salad... and a fabulous ingredient for drinks and cocktails."
Apple Mints has an apple-scented stem, soft, velvety, scalloped edge leaves, and a mild, fruity aroma.
The supermarket is hoping customers will be inspired by a recipe in the herb packaging and there will be more tips and ideas in the Sainsbury's magazine.
