Sainsbury's pulls 'em in with magnetic force

Leading Edge has created a range of on-pack dry peel collectable fridge magnets, which will initially be launched in the Sainsbury's produce sector.

Following extensive development the labels and packaging company has produced a collection of magnets across broccoli, carrots, cauliflower and leeks for the supermarket.

The four suggestions produced on the magnets invite consumers to stir-fry, grate, batter or roast the vegetables and were produced in-house at Leading Edge.

Sainsbury's produce buyer Russell Crowe said: “We are always looking for innovative ideas to add value and reinforce our position. When Leading Edge presented the concept to us we agreed it was the perfect solution. This enables us to provide customers with a useful added value item.

“We anticipate that by offering serving suggestions and a reminder of our website details via the magnets, customers looking for meal ideas will be prompted to go online to view, experiment and enjoy some of the recipes available from Sainsbury's.”
