Sainsbury's pledges to co-operate fully with CC

Sainsbury’s has welcomed the Competition Commission’s provisional findings as they “bring the investigation nearer to its conclusion”.

The third-largest grocery retailer in terms of consumer spend said it will be co-operating fully with the commission in the interests of its customers.

“In particular, Sainsbury's welcomes the commission's findings that the UK groceries market is delivering a good deal for customers but that action is needed to improve competition still further,” the retailer said.

“As expected, the provisional report looks in detail at many issues and Sainsbury's will be co-operating fully with the commission to ensure the best possible outcome for customers.”
