SA looks for converts

The Soil Association is targeting growers who are considering switching to organic production in its ‘Thinking of going organic?’ event.

The event is targeted towards farmers and growers who are contemplating the switch, providing information on the principles of organic farming, advice on how to convert your farm, facts about how growers can benefit from organic grants, and market opportunities for business.

James Twine, the commercial director of Soil Association Certification Limited said: “These events are a great opportunity for all producers to get an insight into the key elements of organic farming and growing - at a time when the UK organic market is growing so dynamically. A range of practical speakers will provide an overview of the market, the grants available as well as sharing their on-farm experience of best practice. All major enterprises are covered.’’

The next event will be held on September 26 at Abbey Home Farm, Cirencester.
