He added that the Skills Council is very interested in supporting the land-based sector as it makes such a major commercial contribution to the Kent economy.

The lively training session, led by Jane Baker, encompassed networking skills through to a SWOT analysis of individual enterprises.

Attending the course was Rebekah Smith from the High Weald Project who has just completed the Instructional Techniques course, which aims to 'train the trainers' in the Land Based sector, improving presentations skills, communication and confidence.

'This course has been invaluable in helping me to deliver informal training schemes, with good structure and proper form, I have had much better feedback about the training I deliver,' she commented. James Lutener, a Learn Direct Tutor and deliverer of Defra-funded skill check courses, added the course had opened up new avenues for his advisory business.
