Royal Mail is heading to the High Court for an injunction to halt next week's official postal workers' strike.

An irregularity in the way the strike notice was issued makes the action illegal, it has said.

But the Communication Workers Union (CWU) says it has complied fully with the law.

Meanwhile, talks to resolve the dispute are continuing at the Trade Union Congress in London, with both sides seemingly unable to reach an agreement.

With the question of pay seemingly resolved, the negotiations are focusing on two issues, pensions and flexible working.
