Leading consumer journalists visited Rotterdam this month to view the latest trends in interior plants,

The trip, organised by the Flowers & Plants Association and the Flower Council of Holland, coincided with the Plantenbeurs trade exhibition of indoor plants held at the Westland auctions, Naaldwijk.

Flower Council Holland took over a town house in the centre of Rotterdam, which leading Dutch florists Geert Maas and Joke Maat decorated with unusual indoor plants.

F&PA has been working to position indoor plants as ‘trendy’ in the media and has been working with journalists to focus on stylish indoor plants for several years now. The association also explains that it keeps its membership informed of trends in indoor plants, and changes in what consumers are looking for, through its regular membership communications.

But F&PA added that it is aware of a gap between what consumers see in magazines and on television, and what is offered in retail outlets, and is working to bridge it.
