Riverford Farm is franchising its organic vegetable box scheme to other parts of the country.
The Devon-based family-run business has seen the number of vegetable boxes it supplies double this year.
Having only recently expanded from Cornwall to London, Riverford is using a co-operative of farmers to help supply more customers.
The company’s founder Guy Watson sayid that although it may seem a simple concept, getting the quality right is crucial. "Rather than Riverford just getting bigger and bigger, with the associated danger of losing sight of the values which have guided our development so far, we have decided to work with other groups of farmers in different areas of the country," Watson said.
