Syngenta UK has posted a boost in profit for the most recent financial year.

The crop protection giant saw its pre-tax profit go from £87 million in 2012 to £115m in the year ending 31 December 2013.

As for turnover, that was also up for Syngenta in the most recent financial year – going from £426 million in 2012 to £457m in 2013.

According to a statement released by the company to accompany the posting of the accounts with Companies House, the increase of the latter was mainly due to increased royalty income following a strong global sales performance for several of the products in which the company owns the intellectual property rights.

Syngenta's UK arm employs more than 1,500 people in six locations across the country.
