Pumpkin stew, from The Recipe Kit

A new delivery service that serves up recipes along with the exact quantity of ingredients so that customers can create restaurant-quality cuisine from the comfort of their own kitchen has been set up.

Using fresh produce supplied by Kent-based sourcer Fresher By Miles, and edible flowers from Mash, based at New Covent Garden Market,The Recipe Kit is delivered direct-to-door, and is the brainchild of food and drink entrepreneur George Kazarian.

He wanted to create a convenient service that offers an exciting culinary experience for consumers, and not just a different way to do the grocery shopping.

The Recipe Kit uses challenging recipes and globally-inspired dishes created by a Leiths-trained chef, and the fresh produce used in the dish oftenarrives with within 24 hours of being cut.

Kazarian said: 'The Recipe Kit provides a delicious alternative to dining out, unsatisfying take-aways and tedious home cooking. Our concept is designed for food lovers who want to continually explore, discover and indulge in delicious recipes. Each week customers are able to try out new cuisines and ingredients, learn new cooking skills and experiment with the latest epicurean trends.

“Britain is becoming fanatical about food and we plan to tap into the growing market of people who place gastronomy at the centre of their lives.'

Customers get to take their pick of nine meals each week, four of which are vegetarian.

Each meal comprises of a main, a side and a new sauce for consumers to add to their repertoire, such as Lemon Verbena Vinaigrette and Tamarind and Treacle Relish.

The Recipe Kit also features ingredients that are difficult to find in the average supermarket, including edible flowers and Pied Bleu mushrooms.

The aim is for new chef skills to be acquired with the preparation of each meal, from mastering the chiffonade technique to learning how to julienne tomatoes.
