Retailers scoop Brammy honours

The Bramley Campaign Group has announced the winners of this year's prestigious Brammy Awards.

The awards, now in their eleventh year, are presented to manufacturers, caterers and the media who have made “an outstanding contribution to the sales and promotion of Bramley apples during the last year”.

The winners of this year's Brammy Awards are as follows:

• Best Bramley Apple Pie (family) - M&S Frozen Bramley Apple Pie

• Best Bramley Apple Pie (individual) - Asda Bramley Apple Pies

• Best other Bramley Pastry product including crumbles - Sainsbury's Frozen Bramley Apple Crumble

• Best Bramley Savoury Product - M&S Pork and Bramley Sausages

• Most Innovative Bramley Product - Wild & Fruitful Lavender Jelly with Bramley Apples

• Best Bramley Media Chef - Antony Worrall Thompson

• Best Bramley Recipe Writer - Olive magazine

• Chairman's Award - Manor Bakeries

Ian Mitchell, chairman of the Bramley Campaign, said: "We are always amazed at the sheer volume and diversity of Bramley products available to the customer, and this year we were literally bowled over. Yet again the media has done a fantastic job supporting the campaign and helping to ensure that Bramley remains relevant to the modern day consumer."
