The NFU has launched a report to show how growers and farmers are working to conserve water.
‘Watter Matters’ shows that farmers have invested more that £3.3m on extra efficiency water measures, and how they are adapting to volatile weather conditions.
The report, which is part of a national survey that included 1,500 farmers and growers, investigated new methods of saving water, including rainwater harvesting, insulating pipes, employing leak detection systems, closing unused pipes in the winter, and techniques such as trickle irrigation.
