Chef’s Connection won its second Re:fresh award last night in landing the MVS Regional Foodservice Supplier of the Year gong.

The award is testament to an ongoing commercial success story that can truly be accredited to the passion, direction and enthusiasm of the key personnel of that company.

Since picking up its previous trophy two years ago, the New Covent Garden Market operator has continued to expand and excel in a market that becomes increasingly competitive.

The company, driven by its managing director and figurehead Danny Murphy and a tireless group of fellow directors and colleagues, is constantly asking its customers how it can do things better, and when it hears the answers, it invests in making the necessary improvements.

Investment has been made in technology, resources and staff to ensure the company maintains a friendly, personal service that never becomes submerged in the sea of commercialism.

The company’s entry was accompanied by testimonials from many of London’s top chefs and eating establishments, which recognise that technical and commercial innovation, allied with the personal touch and, of course, consistently high-quality produce, put Chef’s Connection right at the top of the tree of foodservice suppliers.

More expansion plans are already in place for the next 12 months, as the firm sets its sights on new horizons and adapting its product offer to keep one step ahead of its competitors in the UK’s most densely populated region.

Stuart Busby, Chef's Connection operations manager told freshinfo: "We are delighted to have won the award, it's a tough climate out there and its an endorsement of all the hard work we are doing. It's obviously a team effort and it builds on the recognition we have already received from Re:fresh".

JR Holland Food Services in the North East and Lancashire grower Wareings of Tarleton also impressed judges, but it was Chef’s Connection that took home the prize.
