Organisers of Re:fresh 2006, Fresh Produce Journal, Nexus Media and the Fresh Produce Consortium, have secured the services of a number of top industry names for the day-time conference, which will take place on May 11 at the Marriot Hotel, Grosvenor Square, London.

The conference, sponsored by Prophet, will feature a keynote speech from Will Sibley, master of the Worshipful Company of Fruiterers, now celebrating its 400th anniversary, as well as a series of on-stage live interviews covering suppliers, production, foodservice, wholesalers and retailers.

The on-stage interviewees are Poupart’s Laurence Olins, Richard Hirst, chairman of the NFU Board for Horticulture, Nigel Harris, md of Fresh Direct, Ed Garner, of leading research specialist TNS, and Gary Marshall and Nicholas Saphir, who will talk about the wholesale sector, and specifically New Covent Garden.

A series of sector-specific DVDs will enable delegates to hear the opinions of a further 26 industry leaders throughout the duration of the conference.

This Friday (March 31) is the last date companies have to send their entries for the Re:fresh Awards, sponsored by Florette, which will take place in the evening of May 11.

The awards are now an established date in the UK fresh produce industry’s calendar. The first awards ceremony of its kind, it represents the one time in the year when the industry in its broadest terms gathers to honour the achievements of its friends and colleagues. The emotion-charged atmosphere at the ceremony 12-months ago illustrated that recognition from Re:fresh meant a lot to the winners.

Aside from the obvious pride at recognition, previous winners, without exception, have used their Re:fresh award as an effective internal and/or external marketing tool.

The awards are free to enter and the winners are selected by an independent panel of judges taken from the Re:fresh Partnership.

To reserve your seats for the conference or awards call Clare Martin on: 01322 611394 or visit www.refreshawards.com.
