The new Re:Fresh Awards, being held in conjunction with next month’s Re:Fresh Conference, have attracted a high level of entries. “We have been overwhelmed not only by the number of entries for this first-time competition,” said Dick Brighten, president of the Fresh Produce Consortium, “but also by the quality of most which is exceptionally high.”
All preliminary judging has now been completed, finalists for the 12 category awards are being informed and preparations for the gala presentation ceremony are being finalised.
“We are convinced this will be the highlight of the fresh produce year,” Mr Brighten added. “It will be a unique occasion bringing together wholesalers, importers, packers and retailers.”
