ITISNOT necessary to look abroad for a flowrapper that combines quality, innovation and efficient operation.

Norwich-based Redpack Packaging Machinery designs and manufactures a range of economically priced, quality engineered flowrappers, including conventional bottom seal, top seal (inverted seam crimp) and “flow and shrink” machines. Its fresh produce customer base wraps a range of products from broccoli, peppers and celery to little gem, tomatoes, swedes, cabbage and potatoes.

Sales executive Peter Smith commented that “the latest electronic drive systems have been included in machine specifications with easy to use touch screens for operator/machine interface, providing quicker product to product set up times and maximum packaging efficiency”.

Redpack's latest innovation enables product to be fed directly from make-up conveyor or table into the flowrap infeed. Assembled product, such as punnets of produce, no longer have to be manually moved to the flowrap infeed, they can be transferred directly onto a series of infeed conveyors which automatically spaces the product and synchronises it with the sealing module. The operator loading station is eliminated, thereby speeding up the operation, reducing product handling and packaging costs.

Enhanced corrosion protection for machines in harsh environments, for example mounted on-board harvesting rigs for in-field produce packaging, is achieved by manufacturing in stainless steel and corrosion resistant materials.
