Soft-fruit developers Redeva is set to strengthen its focus on raspberries and minor berry breeding following a strategic review.
Redeva, the soft fruit varietal development division within Redbridge Worldfresh Limited, part of the Redbridge Holdings Group, underwent a review as part of the company’s continuous improvement process.
A company spokesman said: “The review reinforces Redbridge’s long-term commitment to soft fruit breeding and further aligns the Redeva business objectives more closely to commercial and customer expectations.
“As part of this natural growth, Redeva will continue the successes already established in strawberry breeding, while strengthening the focus on raspberry and minor berry breeding.”
As a result of the restructure Irene Geoghegan has been promoted to the newly created position of strawberry development manager, working in conjunction with Redbridge’s overseas strawberry plant breeding operations.
Ronnie McNicol will progress a number of new and exciting developments that will continue to contribute to the future success of Redeva, optimising the position of Redeva and The Summerfruit Company within the value chain.
Worldfresh technical director Adrian Wallbridge, having increased and strengthened his technical team, will now adopt a closer research and development brief. As such he will now take responsibility for Redeva under the redefined management structure.
