Redbridge wholesale sites get BRC

Redbridge Produce & Flowers, Redbridge Holdings’ wholesale division, has had six of its regional branches awarded BRC accreditation, the British Retail Consortium technical standard for companies supplying retailer branded food products.

Branches in Gateshead, Hereford, Wigan, Southampton, Cardiff and Bristol were all given the BRC seal of approval, which involves detailed audits of a range of policies and procedures designed to ensure high standards of food safety, product quality and customer satisfaction.

Redbridge says the new accreditation fits in line with the division’s continuous growth. The last year has seen it win new contracts with customers in the education, health, prison and private sector and the business has grown by a third since the beginning of 2005. Its distributive operations are also expanding with over 150 vehicles on the road.

Graeme Hinchley, managing director of Redbridge Produce & Flowers, said: “These audits are extremely complex and require great commitment from the staff at each site and I offer my congratulations to all those involved in this exhaustive, but rewarding process. We are delighted to be able to enhance our proposition to customers and this accreditation certainly rubber stamps our continuing high standards.”

The company is a finalist in the Capepsan sponsored Re:fresh Wholesaler of the Year Award 2006. For more information, visit www.refreshconference.com
