Redbridge Holdings has announced its acquisition of the assets and goodwill of Hereford-based produce distribution company Brian Parry & Son. The newly acquired business will be fully integrated into the Produce & Flowers division of Redbridge with immediate effect.

Brian Parry’s majority partner Mike Parry will join the Redbridge team in Hereford as operations manager. His six staff will perform various roles within the combined business, which will operate from the Redbridge Produce & Flowers facility at Staniers Way in Hereford.

Richard Clements, managing director of Redbridge Produce & Flowers Hereford branch said: "Parry has an excellent reputation in this area with experienced staff and a strong, loyal customer base. There are many similarities between the Parry business and our own operation and I am confident that we will be able to build on these to further enhance the service we offer our customers. welcome them and his customers to Redbridge."

Redbridge has also acquired the assets and goodwill of Wigan-based produce distribution company William E Fisher Ltd. The newly

acquired business will be fully integrated into Redbridge Produce & Flowers with immediate effect.

Wm Fisher’s majority shareholder Alan Fisher will join the Redbridge team in Wigan as customer services manager. His two staff will perform various roles within the combined business, which will operate from the Redbridge Produce & Flowers facility at Marus Bridge Wholesale Market in Wigan.

Graeme Hinchley, managing director of Redbridge Produce & Flowers, said "Both parties are confident this move will be a success for both staff and customers, enhancing the level of service Redbridge Produce & Flowers provides in the Wigan area. This also strengthens the supply network for the National Schools Fruit Scheme, serving 1,200 schools in the region from the Redbridge Wigan depot."

It is expected that the combined operations in Wigan and Hereford will both benefit from greater levels of local business and an increased range of products. Redbridge hopes to build on previous success in distribution to the catering and retail trade, and reinforce its position as the market leader in this area.
