Redbridge Holdings is opening a 10,000 sq ft chilled distribution facility in Hayes, London, to accommodate its growing customer-base in the South East.

Opening in August, the new facility will be close to Redbridge’s existing wholesale operation in Western International Market. The company says the new centre will allow it to build on its successful 5 A DAY fruit snacking range for the foodservice and retail sectors, launched to introduce fruit and vegetables into sales environments that have not traditionally sold fresh produce.

It will also give it a springboard to develop new customers across the South East, including national and independent retailers, national and local food service, hospitals, schools, cash and carry operations and convenience outlets.

The company currently has seven BRC higher accredited depots located in Gateshead, Wigan, Hereford, Leicester, Bristol, Cardiff and Southampton and says the new facility in Hayes will be a major step in offering its customers a consistent, high quality service on a full national basis, delivered at a local level.

It is estimated the facility will create around 30 jobs by the end of the year.
