Richard Parkes, who worked for Redbridge Worldfresh in a procurement capacity and as account manager for Somerfield, lost his battle in intensive care in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Richard, 33, was involved in a serious car accident near Hastings on October 20 and suffered severe head injuries as a result. Redbridge Worldfresh md Richard Parke-Davies said: “Throughout last week we have all been hoping that Richard would pull through, supported by the tenacity and determination that has become his trademark during the many years he has been working within the business. Unfortunately, his condition could not be overcome and Richard passed away in peace early this morning.

"Our deep thoughts and heartfelt condolences remain with Richard’s family. He remains in our minds as a valued, respected and popular colleague and friend.”
