Today (Tuesday), Redbridge Holdings Ltd announced its acquisition of the assets and goodwill of the Stoke Depot of Lambert Bros (Farm Produce) Ltd. The newly acquired business will be integrated into its Produce and Flowers division with effect from Saturday June 28.

This acquisition will add further to Redbridge's already extensive national coverage.

Mike Brown will continue to manage the business from the same premises and with the same staff, but the company will operate as Redbridge Produce & Flowers.

With the commitment to wholesale and the independent trade shown by Redbridge, both parties are confident that this acquisition will secure the future of the business. Synergies are available in terms of supply base and customer base so customers will benefit from increased procurement power and economies of scale.

Graeme Hinchley, commercial director of Redbridge Produce & Flowers, said: 'This acquisition further extends our radial delivery capability and means we now can reach even more independent retailers and caterers, together with expanding the area we can cover for our national accounts. The acquisition also strengthens our commitment to the National School Fruit Scheme.

'With the procurement benefits and support we can bring to the business I look forward to further developing the services we can offer to our customers. We are looking forward to welcoming Mike Brown and his team to Redbridge.'
