Redbridge in fleet expansion

Redbridge Produce & Flowers has had to strengthen its delivery fleet to meet burgeoning customer demand. The wholesale, foodservice and distribution division of Redbridge Holdings has added 12 new 4.6 tonne Mercedes vehicles in order to keep pace with new contracts secured.

Graeme Hinchley, Redbridge Produce & Flowers md, said: "The new vehicles are the perfect size for our distribution needs, as they are bigger than the average delivery van, but not as large as a 7.5 tonne lorry, so they can manoeuvre around city centres more easily. They will be particularly useful for our increasingly important delivered business which is approaching 50 per cent of our sales and includes local authority, school, prison and hospital customers as well as retail and foodservice."

The 150-strong fleet, operating out of Redbridge's 13 UK-wide branches, is also being liveried with new corporate branding, with over half the vehicles branded already and the remaining to be completed by the end of the year.

The radial distribution element of the company's business has seen significant growth this decade and coverage of the UK has been extended.
