Redbridge Holdings has joined forces with Jersey's Top Produce to promote sales of Jersey Royal through its 12 wholesale branches around the UK this season.
The promotional activity for the island's famous potato crop was launched last week and will run for 13 weeks. The aim is to encourage Redbridge customers to purchase Jersey Royal and Redbridge aims to sell at least 25 per cent more of the product this year compared to last.
'This promotion is an example of things to come across our branches,' said Graeme Hinchley, director of Redbridge Produce & Flowers. 'We have close partnerships with our growers and together we are committed to providing the best value for money on the marketplace.' Customers can claim an entry form for every £100 of the variety they buy and could win a luxury weekend for two in Jersey and £500 spending money. There are also cash prizes for runners up of £500, £250, £150 and eight prizes of £100. Winners will be drawn in July and notified by early August.
Redbridge also revealed the acquisition of respected Wolverhampton wholesaler H Goodall Ltd which it will integrate into its existing produce and flowers division in the town. Philip and Aron Sayce will continue to manage Goodalls from its existing premises as a separate unit and the business will trade as Redbridge Produce & Flowers trading as H Goodall.
Customers are expected to benefit from increased procurement power and economies of scale as both businesses share suppliers and customers.
