Red Tractor in the limelight

The Red Tractor made a grand entrance at the BBC Good Food Show this week, with a little help from celebrity chef Anthony Worrall Thompson.

Worrall Thompson arrived at the NEC behind the wheel of a full size Massey Ferguson tractor, emblazoned with the Red Tractor food logo.

The dramatic entrance marked the Red Tractor’s high-profile debut at this year’s show

Worrall Thompson said: “I’m delighted to be here supporting the Red Tractor. I participated in its launch five years ago and it’s gone from strength to strength.

“The addition of the Union flag this year makes it even easier for people to choose great British food - and to be guaranteed of high standards from farm to pack.”

The Red Tractor logo took centre stage in the British section of the show as headline sponsor of the Great British Food Theatre. Hosted by Thane Prince, the Theatre featured a star-cast of celebrity chefs giving live demonstrations to 200 people in an open-style kitchen.

Worrall Thompson joined Brian Turner, John Torode, Rachel Green and others, using Red Tractor recipes to celebrate the diversity of assured British food.

Chairman of Assured Food Standards, Colin Smith, said, “I am delighted that so many organisations have rallied behind the Red Tractor for this prestigious event.

“Red Tractor standards are owned by the whole food chain and now underpin a wide range of quality food messages. I’m confident that our combined efforts have encouraged more British consumers to look out for the Red Tractor logo when they shop.”
