The Eastern region government office is holding a Healthy Food-Healthy Lifestyles food and environment education conference tomorrow (March 31).

The conference will address the role of food and environmental education in the national curriculum, and will held at the Stibbington Centre, near Peterborough.

Representatives from local government departments and council will review and outline schemes such as 5-a-day and the local Healthy Centre-Growing Centre project based at Stibbington, focussing on the East of England. Other topics to be discussed include the government’s sustainable farming and food strategy, as well as a focus on the importance of healthy eating for a healthy lifestyle.

Speakers include the head of environmental education, from Cambridgeshire county council, Rosie Edwards and a representative from the Department of Health, Martin Seymour.
