Andrew Miller, boss of Edinburgh catering supplier Because I Like It Raw, was yesterday banned from running a catering business by Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
Miller was also fined £750 after admitting a breach of hygiene regulations and failing to register his firm, which supplied fruit salads to bars and shops, as a business.
According to the Daily Record, the Court was told Miller, “let fruit rot and failed to clean debris and mould. And he stored food in a walk-in chill cabinet in a way that was "likely to make it unfit to be eaten and injurious to health".”
Sheriff Andrew Lothian said: "Goodness knows what damage could have been done to people," reported the newspaper.
