Citrus output in the Málaga area of Andalusia in Spain is expected to reach 163,000 tonnes according to forecasts released by the regional executive.

Heavy rainfall over the past few weeks have delayed harvesting but have been good for fruit quality.

There has been flooding in some orchards but most have drained well, according to local producers’ association Asaja-Málaga. Output in the area is predominantly of lemons and oranges followed by Clemenules.
