Sales of fresh berries in the US will continue to expand building on recent growth trends, according to a report from Rabobank.

The report titled 'US Fresh Berry Boom – Who Will Profit from the Growth?' forecasts year-on-year expansion of seven per cent over the next three years.

But despite this upward trend, growers and distributors will find it tough to maintain profits as escalating costs, resource constraints, import competition and the market power of retailers is expected to continue to put margins under pressure.
