A new plant and soil treatment has been launched at this week’s Four Oaks show, promising to ‘transform the way growing for farming and horticulture is done in the UK.’

Quick-Sol, which was developed in the United States and is being distributed in the UK by the newly formed Quick-Sol (UK) Ltd, is said to have been proven to produce ‘extraordinary results’, and makes claims of healthier stronger growth, reduced water usage and increased crop yields as well as reducing water table contamination.

The product is described as environmentally friendly, biodegradable and non-toxic, and has been certified in its existing markets for organic use, according to the manufacturers, who add that evaluations are ‘well advanced’ for certification to the European equivalent standard.

It is claimed that Quick-Sol can significantly reduce water requirements without affecting quality or productivity.

The science and patented technology behind Quick-Sol is said to work to increase cell wall strength, improve photosynthesis, nutrient mobility, soil absorption capacity and ion exchange capabilities.

Further benefits include that it is biodegradable, non-toxic and water soluble; strengthens the plant to help it protect itself against diseases, insect and fungi attacks; aid irrigation and water management practices; and provide protection against salinity, drought and extreme temperature stress.

Managing director of Quick-Sol (UK), Alan Schofield, said: “We are confident that Quick-Sol can play a huge role in the future of the horticultural and agricultural sectors within the UK. We believe that it has the potential to transform many sectors of the industry with a much needed boost to profitability.”
