A team of 24 from Dutch salad vegetable supplier QPI International has raised €41,100 for cancer research through the annual charity bike ride Ride for the Roses.
It is the fifth time a team from the company has taken part in the 100km race, which it traditionally extends by cycling from the office to the race start. During the pre-ride stage the company was this year supported by one of its Dutch catering customers, Flexivers. This year the race began in Twente, in the east of the Netherlands, a further 250km from the QPI office in Lier.
Around half of the momey was raised through a special box scheme, QPI said, with the other €20,000 was raised through support from its UK customers.
“In total the event raised €585,000 for cancer research. This is a fantastic amount for this very good cause and we thank all of you for your participation and will count on you again next year,” said QPI’s Marcel Paul.
