Interfarm has announced that it is now supplying the systemic fungicide Propeller for use in a number of vegetable and ornamantal crops for control of a wide range of diseases, particularly during crop establishment.

Propeller is a systemic carbamate fungicide containing 722g/l propamocarb. It helps protect against diseases such as Pythium, Peronospora and downy mildew at establishment.

It is recommended in Brussels sprouts, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, calabrese, leeks, bulb onions, cucumbers, aubergine, peppers, tomatoes, bedding plants, pot plants, nursery stock, tulip bulbs and established ornamentals.

Dr David Stormonth, technical manager at Interfarm, explained: “Used as a soil or substrate drench, plant or bulb dip or in irrigation systems, the fungicide is absorbed by the roots and ten up into establishing plants where it confers persistent protection against many foot rots, root roots and damping off.

“Retained in the top few centimetres of the soil, Propeller has a half life of around four weeks, depending on conditions.”
