Chrysanthemums are set to become next season’s hottest trend, thanks to the Flowers and Plants Association.

The association is running a stand at London Fashion Weekend, set in the grounds of the Natural History Museum, to promote chrysanthemums as the ‘Fashionista Flower’ of the moment.

The stand will show ‘just how versatile, hip and trendy the Chrysanthemum is and how well it combines with today’s fashion’. It will feature the flower in designs from four of the country’s top designers, as well as a ‘play table’ where people can come and experiment with their own designs.

Andrea Caldecourt, the association’s chief executive, said: “People can be very snooty about chrysanthemums - they’ve had a lot of bad press. We just want to show what you can do with them.”
