Profitable Futures will have six inter-linked areas to showcase new opportunities for producers and provide advice on how to capitalise on them. Visitors to the stands can obtain information on relevant legislation and other external issues to help them minimise business risk as well as consult with advisers about adding value to their products, collaboration with the supply chain and improving farm efficiency.

Renewable energy, non-food crops, environmental stewardship and waste management will also form a part of this section of the show which is expected to occupy three acres of the overall showground at Stoneleigh Park, Warks.

“Leading politicians outlined a new vision for agriculture at last year’s Royal Show and reiterated this at January’s Oxford Farming Conference,’ said professor John Moverley who is chief executive of show organiser, the Royal Agricultural Society of England (RASE). “This new element of the show will offer real and accessible advice that will, we hope, help farmers put pounds in their pockets. It covers climate change, biofuels, recycling, environmental stewardship, local food, rural enterprise - all burning issues for society and all potentially profitable opportunities for farmers and growers armed with the right advice who are committed to profitable farming.”

Profitable Futures is a collaboration between RASE, government agencies, the Renewable Energy Association and the Food Chain Centre. National Non-Food Crops Centre and Natural England have also confirmed their participation in the attraction.
