Turnover at P&I Fruits dipped from £29.3 million to £27.5m in the year to 27 March 2015 following a consolidation of the fruit and veg departments.

That left the group, which does a strong trade in salads, and herbs like mint, with one fruit and one veg division.

Pre-tax profit in the financial year the data covers rose from £1.2m to £1.6m, aided by mergers.

Director Ian Taylor said: “Continued operational changes in the accounts and administration departments have led to increased savings across operations.”
