North-west Cambridgeshire MP, Shailesh Vara, officially opened Produce World’s head office in Peterborough on 9 September.
During his visit to the 5,000 sq ft premises at a Peterborough business partk the MP met William Burgess, Produce World ceo and unveiled a plaque commemorating the occasion. Burgess said: “These offices are an important part of the continuing development of our business. Over the past five years we have seen our sales grow more than two and half times to some £218 million for the year 2010.”
After unveiling the plaque, said: “It’s a great privilege to be opening the new offices of a local business that is not just successful in the area, but is a leading player in this sector in Britain and, indeed in Europe.”
The office will house more than 30 staff.
