Supermarket announces over 40 price reductions to start the new year
A range of berries and salad veg are among more than 40 everyday items to have their prices cut by Aldi.
In its latest salvo in the supermarket price war, the discounter said the products would have prices lowered by up to 17 per cent.
The lines include reductions on Nature’s Pick blackberries, strawberries and raspberries, as well as Everyday Essentials strawberries.
Also under the supermarket’s Nature’s Pick brand, there are reductions on aubergine, chopped iceberg lettuce, beetroot, watermelon and swet & crispy salad.
Everyday Essentials mushrooms (650g) are also 10p off at £1.79.
Last week Aldi was named Cheapest Supermarket of the Year for 2023 by consumer group Which?
Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi, said: “We’re starting 2024 as we ended 2023 – by being the UK’s lowest-priced supermarket, ensuring our customers can enjoy our great-quality products at the lowest-possible prices.
“At a time when budgets are squeezed post-Christmas, this latest round of price cuts will help our shoppers make significant savings on their weekly food shop, with amazing prices to be had on a wide range of items.”
