Preva Produce has established a new base in Scotland.

The potato firm's latest venture, named Preva Seed, is based in Meigle, Perthshire.

Preva MD, Ian Anderson, said: “I am very pleased that we now have a base in Scotland.

'This is an important part of the continuing expansion of Preva Produce as the market leading independent potato specialist. Preva Seed will be an integral part of our business.

'With a Scottish base, we will extend our reach and deliver our customary quality, value and consistency across a portfolio of varieties. Preva Seed will grow and source quality seed from the UK. This expansion will ensure our growers have access to the very best tested and certified seed stocks, individually selected by the Preva team.”

Preva Seed in Scotland will be managed and developed by newly-appointed Ross Haynes, who brings with him 35 years’ experience from Pseedco and Agrico where he specialised in all aspects of seed development and procurement; from hydroponics and technical development through to seed stock selection and supplier liaison.

Anderson added: “I am delighted to welcome Ross to the Preva team. His knowledge and experience will be key in growing this important aspect of our business.

'Our expansion and Ross’s appointment demonstrate our continued commitment to growth, sustainability and quality within all aspects of our supply chain.'
