Preva Produce acquires Blanchard Agriculture

Norfolk-based potato business Preva Produce Ltd has acquired Blanchard Agriculture Ltd as it looks to further grow its business.

Edward Blanchard, owner of Blanchard Agriculture, joined Preva Produce on 1 July in a senior commercial role.

Preva has grown dramatically over the past five years and owners Ian Anderson and Will Beeson are pleased with the new development.

In a statement, they said: “We have worked closely with Edward over the last five years and we believe that the ambition and dynamism shown at Blanchard Agriculture will fit very well with our ongoing expansion at Preva.”

Blanchard added: “Both businesses have continued to expand and develop new business despite the difficult economic climate of the last 12 months. This opportunity will strengthen both businesses and will provide an exciting platform from which to serve both customers and suppliers.”

Preva Produce currently grow 700 acres of potatoes in Norfolk for the seed, organic, pre-packing and processing sectors. The company stores 40,000 tonnes of potatoes across its five sites and has modern grading and packing facilities to complement it’s farming activity. Preva contracts and markets potatoes from growers throughout the UK and overseas.
