Prepared fruit specialist marks decade of growth by opening new state-of-the-art facility in Northfleet, Kent
Prepared fruit specialist PrepWorld is opening a new prepared fruit production facility in Northfleet, Kent to allow the business to increase production, expand its product range, and better serve customers’ needs.
The purpose-designed site will be operational from August and it offers a significant increase in capacity. The company added that the move underlines its commitment to quality and compliance.
Having reached full capacity at its original site in neighbouring Southfleet, the new facility in Northfleet will ensure PrepWorld can build further on its first decade of rapid expansion.
The supplier said the new site “provides a future-proof multiservice offering with dedicated fruit processing facilities, 10 assembly lines, and assembly automation solutions which will enable the business to better serve customer needs now, and in the future”.
An official opening party on 7 July will see over 150 people from PrepWorld’s family, friends and suppliers come together to celebrate the company’s 10-year anniversary and discover the new facility.
“I am personally so proud of everything the business and our people have achieved and am excited as we look forward to the next decade, operating from our new state-of-the-art facilities in Northfleet,” said PrepWorld CEO and founder Ben Olins.
Building on prior experience supplying washed, ready-to-eat blueberries, Olins established PrepWorld in 2012 as a supplier of prepared fruit to the UK retail market. Its product range has rapidly evolved over the last decade to include a wide range of soft fruit, topfruit, stonefruit, grapes, tropical and exotic fruits.
