The new pallet washer

PPS Equipment Management Ltd, a specialist supplier of Returnable Transit Equipment (RTE), has now extended services further at its wash plant located at Measham, with the introduction of a dedicated plastic pallet washing machine.

PPS Wash director Iain McArthur said: “Following on from the successful introduction of the first industrial washing line, we have found that the demand for washing and sterilising of pallets, crates, trays and containers has rapidly increased.

“Therefore, PPS Equipment Management took the decision to invest and install a dedicated pallet washer line, which has increased processing efficiencies and saved time by reducing change over times on the existing line.”

The main wash section incorporates a high pressure spraying system that can operate at high temperatures and variable speeds to effectively remove ingrained surface dirt and sterilise pallets against pollutants. The wash line is extremely flexible and can handle products of various sizes and provide a depth of cleansing according to each customer’s needs.

After washing and rinsing, all products pass through a blow dry section prior to being stretch film wrapped for dispatch.

The stand alone unit is specified to the highest cleansing standards to ensure we comply with HACCP related monitoring of processing equipment, surfaces and water samples. Swab tests are carried out throughout each shift via a Hygiene Monitoring Device.

The new 20,000 square foot modern premises at Measham in the Midlands, just off the M42 - Junction 11, can accommodate all sizes and types of vehicles with sufficient capacity to store pallets and crates inside the factory in designated Clean and Dirty areas to minimise the risk of contamination.
