ISO62 and ISO65 accreditation by the South African National Accreditation System has further enhanced the credibility of the PPECB as quality service provider, the board said in a statement on April 26. The board had already acquired ISO9001 status and was approved as a certification agency for the European retailers' agricultural practices EurepGap programme last year.

The PPECB is able to certify food safety systems and issue certificates within ISO62 and ISO65 specifications for good manufacturing practices, good hygiene practices, good agricultural practices (specifically Eurep-Gap) and hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP).
