Poupart fruit fit for skippers

Poupart Citrus is to sponsor Skip2BFit, the fitness initiative that motivates schoolkids across the UK to exercise and eat well.

From September, the supplier will provide clementines and satsumas to schools across south London as part of the scheme. BerryWorld and grower Winterwood Farms will supply blueberries for the project for the third year running.

More than 120,000 schoolchildren in the UK participate, and all are given an 80g carton of blueberries, and a product information sheet.

Adam Olins, md of Poupart, said: “By providing blueberries and now citrus fruit, we not only encourage children to taste a fruit which might be new to them, but also educate both the children and their parents about the benefits of healthy eating. We also hope to encourage parents to start including the fruit in lunchboxes.”
