The blight infection was identified by a BPC blight scout earlier this week and the suspected outbreak centres around Fakenham. Potato growers in the immediate area should now step up their monitoring and blight control programmes, warned the BPC.

The campaign aims to reduce the effects of blight, the most catastrophic of all potato diseases that can easily halve yields if left uncontrolled.
