Potatoes in Practice approaches

A field-based potato event is to display a number of key developments with the crop.

Potatoes in Practice, sponsored by Potato Council and supported by Potato Review, is Britain’s largest field-based potato event dedicated to the potato industry and takes place at Balruddery Farm near Dundee on 11 August.

The free event will feature trials and demonstrations from The James Hutton Institute (JHI), SAC, Masstock Arable (formerly CSC Potato Care) and the wider industry.

The JHI is display the findings of ground-breaking research into the genome mapping of a potato completed this month to widespread international media coverage.

Expert speakers from the industry will cover a range of topics including plant health challenges, groundkeeper control and the PCN directive

More than 700 growers, advisors, overseas visitors and industry representatives attended the 2010 event.
