Priestley: new supply chain teams

British Potato Council chief executive Helen Priestley has introduced heads of new BPC supply chain teams to the industry and outlined their roles in the future of the Council.

The fresh and pre-pack supply chain team will be managed by Phil Bradshaw, assisted by executive David Want. The processing supply chain team is headed up by Damian Baker and he will be supported by Charlotte Jennings and Ben Worth. And the seed and export supply chain team is led by Iain Dykes, supported by Louise Chapman.

Priestley said that some team members have already worked elsewhere in the BPC, while others have joined from jobs within the industry or from further afield. She added that the industry can expect that:

• “They are experts in their sectors and able to discuss relevant issues.

• “They are responsible for communicating relevant BPC outputs throughout supply chains and also for collecting feedback to guide future work.

• “Often this will be at meetings and events organised by supply chain members ñ grower groups, packers, processors etc. If they are not at your meetings and you would like them to be, please contact them.

• “Besides being a major point of contact for access to BPC information and resources, they will also draw in other BPC specialists (eg marketing, r&d, knowledge transfer and market information staff) wherever appropriate.”

Recruitment for one further position in the fresh supply chain team will start in the new Year.
