MMD recently won a contract with Del Monte

Portsmouth port terminal operators MMD (Shipping Services) Ltd has taken on Anglia Business Solutions’ LINKFresh cargo management and vessel discharge system.

The system handles all aspects of the shipping, warehouse, transport, financial and administrative processes involved in the importation of fruit and follows a large deal between the port and produce multinational Del Monte.

The Microsoft Dynamics NA- based LINKFresh solution includes the integration of ships manifest information, inventory management, quality control, sales and purchase order processing, financial accounting and mobile applications into a single real time information system.

MMD director Martin Putman said: “The solution now matches our preferred working practices. Our processes are now more efficient, administrative costs have been reduced, customer service and staff morale improved and we have sharpened our competitive edge. The combination of timely claims processes, resource redeployment and improved cash flow has already produced annual savings of over £300,000 per annum.

“The recently announced Del Monte contract is an excellent example where linking our systems has already produced significant mutually beneficial efficiencies”.

Anglia’s commercial director Robert Frost said: “The MMD (Shipping Services) solution ideally illustrates the business benefits of investing in a fully integrated Microsoft based ERP system. The world-class technology incorporated into the application has helped the MMD management team to transform the organisation using real time information as a competitive aid. The Anglia and MMD delivery teams collaborated superbly to successfully deploy this showcase project. Both teams are to be congratulated on their achievements.”
