The German capital has a colourful and varied schedule of events in store for Fruit Logistica, in Berlin on February 7-9, many of which will continue well into the evening, long after the trade fair has closed for the day.

Berlin boasts a wide range of cultural and entertainment alternatives which complement a visit to the world’s leading fruit industry trade fair. “You will find Berlin to be a cosmopolitan metropolis, with inner city department stores and businesses remaining open until 10pm. In addition, the Berlinale, one of the international film industry’s most important events, takes place at the same time as Fruit Logistica,” said a spokesperson for organiser Messe Berlin.

Berlin has more than 6,000 restaurants, bars and clubs. “Entertainment, sports, shopping, culture: There is always something happening in Berlin,” said the spokesperson. “If you are looking to round off the evening with that special musical or cultural touch, there are three opera houses and more than 150 theatres and stages to choose from. You may like to attend the fast-paced and energetic show “Wine, Women & Song” at star restaurateur Hans-Peter Wodarz’ restaurant-cum-theatre Palazzo, for instance, or to marvel at “Spectacular Revue Highlights” at the Friedrichstadtpalast.”

Messe Berlin is offering a number of package trips in cooperation with smart and more GmbH. You can book flights and train tickets and make hotel reservations at www.smart-fairs.de. Most hotel reservations made via smart and more GmbH include a free shuttle service to the exhibition grounds.

Hotel reservations can also be made through the HRS Hotel Reservation Service: www.hrs.de, or telephone: +49 (0)1805-477 000.

Berlin Tourismus Marketing GmbH (BTM) also has a site for online hotel reservations. Further information about the capital Berlin can be found at www.berlin-tourist-information.de.
